Vital Earth Medicine offers herbal medicine workshops in Sheffield.
These workshops are designed for people to develop a deeper connection to the many wonderful medicinal plants that grow around us and to understand their health-boosting properties through direct experience.
Expect stories, science, making remedies and lots of herbal tea!
Hannah Cussen, BMedSci, BSc (hons)
My journey into herbal medicine began with a curiosity for the plants I would see while out walking in nature. Gradually, I learnt to identify a few and then realised that many of these plants can be used as a medicine - and have been for many years. What began as a hobby became my life's passion and I completed my degree in Herbal Medicine in 2019. My background is in medical science and my interest in health has transformed from my time at Sheffield Medical School into exploring alternative and holistic modalities, by pursuing professional training in massage and herbalism. I set up Vital Earth Medicine to share my love for natural health and to facilitate other people's discovery of how herbs can transform our everyday lives.
Each week we will delve into a few plants that share a similar taste or have a similar effect on the body. They will be blended together to make a nice - or at least interesting! - cup of tea. In each session we will also learn a different way to prepare herbs and you take home whatever you make.
